It's a long time since I wrote on here.  It was a great spring, we had training on Volunteer Management in Havering ... that was eventful, and I got to meet some wonderful new people.

I also delivered training on Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees, and the financial responsibilities.

Working in Mottingham was absolutely fantastic and really energising where I was able to speak to hundreds of local residents and get their views on what's needed to make the community right for them.

On a personal note I am completing a dissertation to finalise an MSc in Social Policy, which has been really interesting and I want to than Rabia and Mahna and all at Afghanistan & Central Asia Association for helping me connect with people to consult.

Now I'm supporting a few friends in setting up their own businesses, Serenity Integrated Care, providers of care services and  Acrysalis providing goods and activities to support the mind body and soul.

This Autumn we have a new training programme which includes free places for volunteers so do pop over and take a look.

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer

Today Epitome began working with Mottingham Big Local.  Mottingham are in the process of developing their new Big Local Plan.  Funded by Big Lottery through Local Trust this is one of 152 very localised resident led community partnerships developing activities to address local priorities.  Over the coming weeks we will be consulting with residents and groups to identify the priorities of Mottingham's new Plan.

A Wonderful couple of months

I have been so lucky, and honoured to work with some amazing groups so far this year.

ChART Big Local has always been an absolute inspiration.  Local people dedicated to making big changes in a small area of Lewisham.  Epitome has been providing support to them to help them to find a new Local Trusted Organisation, to provide back office support and governance to enable the Partnership and staff to continue to deliver front line activities.

Afghanistan and Central Asian Association

I just love this organisation.  So commited to the people that they provide support for, people from Afghanistan and Central Asia, but in reality they strive to build strong communities.

Lots of fundraising here, Big Lottery, City Bridge, Home Office as well as overseas applications to develop work in Afghanistan.

Today I actually have time at home, working on proposals to support other Big Local areas, as well as setting up a small grants programme.
